SWAT Standoff Ends With Arrest of Suspected Robber

Police arrested a man after a SWAT standoff prompted by a call from a victim who said he was taken against his will and ordered to take money from an ATM.

The SWAT operation in 100 block of Giovanola Avenue in San Bernardino ended at 7:23 p.m. when police took the a man into custody and recovered a gun. Streets around the area were reopened, said Lt. Travis Walker, of the San Bernardino Police Department.

Apparently a victim called police and claimed he was kidnapped and taken to a Wells Fargo bank to withdraw cash.

Once there, they waited outside the bank while the victim went inside and called police.

Officers arrived at the bank and took two robbers into cutody.

The victim told officers that two others were still at a residence.

Once there, police spotted a man who went into the house and an hourslong standoff began.
