Investigators at the scene of a crash involving a deputy and a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene in Bloomington.
A pedestrian was killed and a San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy was injured Sunday night when the deputy struck the man during a response to a call for help in Bloomington
The crash occurred on Cedar Avenue near Santa Ana Avenue at about 9 p.m.
The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by the deputy's cruiser, according to witnesses.
"It's a horrific incident, and it's all under investigation at this point," said CHP Officer Leon Lopez.
The deputy suffered a broken arm.
The vehicle sustained front-end damaged and a shattered windshield.
