Two miles of water along San Clemente's coastline have been closed after people spotted sharks off State Beach.
At least three sharks were spotted roughly 30 yards off State Beach Sunday morning, said San Clemente Lifeguard Lt. Rod Mellott.
The stretch between North Beach and Los Winds Beach is closed until further notice, Mellott said. Lifeguards will reevaluate the closure after 5 p.m., he said.
This is the second time in less than a week that beaches have been closed in San Clemente due to shark sightings.
