Pursuit Suspect's Parkour-Style Run Across Rooftops Ends With Arrest

The San Fernando Valley pursuit began after a report of a stolen vehicle

A man involved in a San Fernando Valley pursuit scaled walls and climbed onto several rooftops after the chase ended late Friday morning in a residential neighborhood.

Police arrested the man and three other people sought in connection with the pursuit after a search in Arleta.

The chase began after a report of a stolen vehicle. The sport utility vehicle's doors were popped open as it rolled to a stop in a cul de sac, and four people appeared to run from the SUV. One of the men threw a gun as LAPD officers gave chase.

The occupants ran through a tunnel under a freeway and into a residential neighborhood.

Three suspects then entered a home as its owner watched in shock.

"Three of them went inside my house, the other one kept running. I said 'Why are you going in my house?'," said homeowner Ruben Saenz.

One of the men climbed walls and leaped onto rooftops parkour-style, at one point drawing barks from two agitated dogs in a home's backyard. The subject appeared to be talking on a phone as he took a seat on top of a building near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Pierce Street.

The man surrendered to officers behind a residence. A few minutes later, a man and a woman exited a building behind a nearby home and were taken into custody. The fourth suspect was also arrested near the home of Ruben Saenz.
