Five-Hour Neighborhood Manhunt Ends With Arrest on Freeway Ramp

A man who pointed a gun at officers after a pursuit was arrested Thursday morning after a five-hour manhunt in a San Gabriel Valley neighborhood.

Police were looking for the driver, armed with a gun, in a neighborhood near Del Mar Avenue and the 10 Freeway early Thursday. The man pointed the gun at officers after stopping in a cul-de-sac near the freeway, according to authorities.

Officers opened fire, but it was not immediately clear whether the subject was struck by gunfire.

The man was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on a freeway ramp, police said. A driver reported a shirtless man hiding in bushes near the ramp.

Freeway ramps in the area were closed for the search. Traffic was backing up on the 10 Freeway due to the ramp closures.

It was not immediately clear what led to the pursuit.
