One More Out of Four Men Sought in San Gabriel Burglaries, Chase

Three of four males wanted for a pair of residential burglaries in San Gabriel were in custody Wednesday after leading officers on a chase and abandoning their car on a freeway in Boyle Heights, police said.

The chase, which was initiated by Torrance police who were conducting surveillance in San Gabriel, began at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday, according to the San Gabriel Police Department. The nature of the Torrance police investigation was not immediately reported.

The chase entered the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway and ended in the Boyle Heights area near Soto Street where the suspects abandoned the car.

Police set up a perimeter search in the area where the car was left and arrested three people, according to San Gabriel police Lt. Tony Hernandez. The fourth suspect was not believed to be in the area, he added, but residents were asked to be vigilant of suspicious activity.
