Police on Wednesday arrested the second of two hit-and-run drivers who struck a 14-year-old girl in a busy Orange County intersection.
The crash happened Monday in Santa Ana.
Surveillance video released Tuesday shows the teen darting into traffic and trying to dodge cars at 17th and Bristol streets. First, she is struck by a red pick-up truck, and the driver speeds away. She is then struck again by a black Cadillac.
Though the video shows her flying into the air and appearing to land on her upper shoulders, the girl suffered leg injuries and has been released from the hospital.
She is seen on surveillance trying to get up, but failing to put any weight on her legs. After a few moments, the driver of the Cadillac got out and picked up the teen’s backpack and apparently checked on her condition.
When officers arrived, they said that driver never identified herself as being part of the collision before leaving the scene.
On Wednesday, police announced they had arrested the driver of the Cadillac, identified as Amanda Aie Sananikone, 21, of Anaheim.

After watching surveillance video, investigators said they suspected that Sananikone was a student at Santa Ana College. When safety officers at the school spotted a Cadillac that matched the description, police were called in and Sananikone was arrested.
Sananikone faces charges of felony hit and run.
The man behind the wheel of the red truck was arrested Monday. Police said Adan Santis Camacho, 32, told them he panicked after the crash and left because he was driving without a license.
