Man's Body Found in Parked Car in Santa Clarita

Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a car parked in a Santa Clarita neighborhood Sunday, deputies said.

A sheriff's deputy on patrol about 9:30 a.m. spotted a blue Honda Accord illegally parked at Golden Valley Road and Robert C. Lee Parkway in Canyon Country, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Amber Smith wrote in a news release.

Intending to have the car towed, the deputy began searching the car for inventory when he discovered the body, the release said.

Smith provided no other information about the circumstances involving the death.

"We're going to process the vehicle and try and identify the victim," said sheriff's Lt. Steve Jauch.

The Santa Clarita Valley Signal reported that the man's body was found in the trunk of a car.
