It could be a mess this weekend if you are planning on driving in or around the Hollywood area. A series of streets around Hollywood will be closed beginning Saturday, Nov. 28, to accommodate the 2009 Hollywood Christmas Parade, which will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29.
The following streets will be closed:
SATURDAY:
Hollywood Boulevard from Orange Street to Highland Avenue
Orange Street from Hollywood Boulevard South to the alley north of Hawthorne Avenue.
The streets will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday.
SUNDAY:
Hollywood Boulevard from LaBrea Avenue to Orange Street at 6 a.m. Re- opens at 10 p.m.;
Hawthorne Avenue, DeLongpre Avenue, Fountain Avenue from LaBrea Avenue to Highland Avenue at 1 p.m. Re-opens at 9:00 p.m.
Lanewood Avenue from LaBrea Avenue to Orange Street at 1 p.m. Re- opens at 10 p.m.
El Cerrito Place from Hollywood Boulevard to Franklin Avenue at 1 p.m. Re-opens at 8 p.m.
Sycamore Street, Orange Street from Franklin Avenue to Fountain Avenue at 1 p.m. Re-opens at 9 p.m.
Sunset Boulevard from LaBrea Avenue to Highland Avenue at 1 p.m. Re- opens at 10 p.m.
East side of LaBrea Avenue from Hollywood Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard at 4 p.m. Re-opens at 7 p.m.
Highland Avenue from Franklin Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard at 4 p.m. Re-opens at 9 p.m.
Hollywood Boulevard from Highland Avenue to Gower Street at 4 p.m. Re- opens at 9 p.m.
Vine Street from Franklin Avenue to Santa Monica Street at 4 p.m. Re- opens at 9 p.m.
Sunset Boulevard from Highland Avenue to Gower Street at 4 p.m. Re- opens at 9 p.m.
Sunset Boulevard from Highland Avenue to La Brea Avenue at 3 p.m. Reopens at 10 p.m.
HOLLYWOOD (101) FREEWAY
Northbound and Southbound offramps of Cahuenga Boulevard and Highland Avenue will be closed at 3 p.m. Re-opens at 10 p.m.
And if you think you can complain about the traffic due to Santa's visit and not move over to the "Naughty" list, you are gravely mistaken.
