Authorities were searching for a man who was believed to be armed and dangerous after a stabbing outside a popular Hollywood restaurant early Sunday.
An adult male stabbed another man on the right side chest after an argument broke out at Yamashiro Hollywood just after midnight Sunday, said Sgt. Chuck Slater of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Firefighters responded quickly and transported the victim to Cedar Sinai Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition and expected to survive his injury, Slater said.
A security guard working at the restaurant had the man detained while LAPD was called, but he somehow managed to get away by the time police arrived, Slater said.
Multiple K-9 units were out on scene assisting officers in the search for the stabber and as a precaution residents who lived within the perimeter were not being allowed to enter, Slater said.
As of 3:00 a.m., the man remains outstanding but residents were able to go back to their homes, official said.
