A security guard was shot in the vicinity of a liquor store in Panaroma City Thursday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Gunfire broke out about 9:50 p.m. in the 15000 block of Roscoe Boulevard, authorities said.

Information about the shooting was scarce late Thursday. It was not immediately known whether the shooting happened in front of or inside a liquor store, or whether the guard was working at the business.

The guard was found bleeding, unconscious and not breathing, but LAPD could not confirm whether the security guard was killed. The guard's weapon was missing.

A shooter was seen running from the scene on Noble Avenue. A description was not available.
