A security guard arrested a suspected shoplifter outside the Forever 21 store at Hollywood and Highland. The suspected shoplifter and his friend are deaf. The shoplifter apparently didn't hear store alarms sounding.

A video posted on YouTube showing a security guard tackling a shopper on Hollywood Boulevard is generating a lot of anger online.
The person who posted the video claims a security guard tackled a deaf man who had just walked out of the Forever21 store on August 6. The video shows the guard putting a choke hold on the shopper as a friend, who is also deaf, tries to communicate using sign language.
Bystanders are heard saying, “you’re choking him,” and “he’s turning purple.”
The man in the choke-hold also tries to communicate using sign language while still in the choke-hold. When the man breaks out of the hold, he reportedly points to his ears to signal that he can’t hear.
The man was arrested for shoplifting. YouTube users have been voicing their anger in the comments section under the video.
“I'm filled with anger. I cannot believe what I'm seeing,” writes the YouTube user “donyahelwa.”
“Chokeholds are not justifiable force when trying to restrain a shoplifter,” writes YouTube user WyldOrbit.
NBCLA contaced the corporate office of Forever21 and we were told a media representative would return our call.
