Westside drivers bring your patience.

The northbound lanes of Sepulveda Boulevard will be periodically closed during day and nighttime hours as officials continue construction on the 405 widening project.

Work is scheduled to start March 19 and Caltrans says drivers should expect delays. The road closures are necessary so contractors can relocate overhead power lines underground.

The construction is part of the 405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project which will add HOV lanes and reconfigure several off-ramps and underpasses.

Caltrans says the closures will take place between Montana Avenue and Sunset Bl. on weekdays from 9am to 3pm and again on weeknights 9pm to 6am. Saturday work is expected between 8:00am and 6pm.

Work is expected to take about 8 weeks depending on weather conditions.
