Shots Fired at Police Car in San Bernardino

Someone fired upon an unmarked police car in San Bernardino on Tuesday night, but no officers were injured and no arrests were made, officials said.

The shooting occurred about 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Rancho Avenue in San Bernardino (map). Two officers were inside the vehicle at the time, according to San Bernardino police officials.

A tire was blown out in the shooting, and police believed suspects fired from another vehicle.

Police are also investigating a possible connection with previous San Bernardino shootings targeting police officers.

Officers had set up a containment area around the scene of the shooting and were seeking suspects.

In the last two months, officers and sheriff's deputies in San Bernardino were shot at four times, officials said.
