The Sierra Madre Police Department has recovered hundreds of items they believe to be stolen by burglars over the last year, and they want to put it back in the hands of its rightful owners.

The property includes hundreds of pieces of jewelry and watches, cell phones, electronics and musical instruments. Photos of the items have been posted to the city’s website for victims to identify their property.

Sierra Madre residents who find their stolen things on the website can call the police department to arrange an appointment with detectives, authorities said.

To recover the property a police report or proof that the items belong to you must be provided. Proof can come in the form of photographs with you wearing the item, a serial number or a receipt that clearly shows you purchased it, authorities said.

The proof will then be handed over to a judge who will determine whether or not the property will be released to you.
