Suspect Arrested in Simi Valley Kidnapping

A suspect in the kidnapping of a 24-year-old woman who was kidnapped from her home in Simi Valley on Sunday night was arrested in the parking lot of the Simi Valley police station, police said.

"Keisha Marshall was dragged from her home bleeding heavily," said Simi Valley Police Lt. Joseph May. "She is a previous victim of domestic violence,  and we believe she was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend,  28-year-old Rashaun Bailey."

It happened in the 2600 block of Bloom Street at about 9:40 p.m. A relative of the victim was home and heard the victim scream during the kidnapping, said Lt. May. The suspect was from Texas, and police said they believed he might try to return there with Marshall.

"Bailey forced Marshall into a white 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, with black push bars in the front," said Lt. May.

Around 4:45 p.m., the suspect turned into the parking lot of the Simi Valley police station  parking lot, possibly to turn himself in. An officer spotted Bailey and made the arrest.

The victim had been in contact with authorities for most of the afternoon but she was calling from a blocked number, police said.

"She looked pretty disheveled," May said. "No obvious physical signs but she did not look in good shape. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Before the kidnapping took place, a jury trial for the suspect was scheduled to begin Monday that involved a misdemeanor battery charge against the victim.
