Two skydivers are in the hospital after colliding midair over Lake Elsinore Friday evening.

One of the skydivers was in “traumatic full arrest’’ and the other sustained major injuries, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Chari Patterson.

Fire officials said the two men were in their 20's, and are members of the British military.

The group was jumping with a company called Skydive Elsinore.

The skydivers apparently free fell for about five to seven minutes.  They were falling at a speed of about 120 miles an hour before they opened their chutes.

On average, 30 skydivers a year are involved in fatal accidents.
