Small Quake Shakes Cabazon

A small earthquake, with a preliminary magnitude estimated at 3.1, rocked the San Gorgonio Pass today.

Automated seismographs operated by the USGS and local universities placed the epicenter three miles northeast of Cabazon, and about 14 miles northwest of Palm Springs.

A 3.1 quake is not expected to cause any damage, according to seismologists at the Southern California Earthquake Center.
