Day 13 in the Sochi Olympics saw Team USA widened its lead over No. 2 Russia in the total medal count. But away from the ice rinks and slopes, there were plenty of storylines that captured the attention of social media users.

Kate Hansen, the Team USA luger whose pre-competition warm-up includes dancing to Beyonce, was the talk of Twitter again after she posted a video of what she identified as a "wolf" wandering in her hallway. Slovenia's Filip Flisar didn't medal in the freestyle ski cross event, but he still became an Internet sensation thanks to his epic and totally retro mustache.

And it may have been the rising temperatures in Sochi that had NBC4’s Whit Johnson in a California state of mind. Or maybe it was a photo reminder in the form of a juicy In-N-Out hamburger from colleague Michael Brownlee.
