2 Shot at Green Meadows Liquor Store

A fight outside a liquor store in the Green Meadows area of South Los Angeles eroded into a shooting, and the two men wounded were expected to survive, police said Sunday.

Gunfire erupted at 8:54 p.m. Saturday outside the business, on South Central Avenue near 120th Street, according to Sgt. Tim Jones of the Los Angeles Police Department's Southeast Station.

A man about 30 years old, and another man between 20 to 25 years old, got into a fight with two people, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.

One pulled out a gun and shot the men, before fleeing the scene, Eisenman said.

Paramedics rushed the victims to an area hospital, where they were expected to survive their gunshot wounds, she said.

Police had no suspect description information.
