Organizers expect about 5,000 people to attend a St. Patrick's Day celebration in Pershing Square Monday that will include a motorcycle, parade, concert and street closures in downtown Los Angeles.
The parade will begin at 10:35 a.m. at Fifth and Hill streets. It will proceed south to Seventh Street, west to Olive Street and north to Sixth Street. It will include the motorcycle group the L.A. Police Fire Hogs; the 20-member L.A. Police Emerald Society Bagpipe and Drum Band; and 32 uniformed men and women from Berlin's police department.
The Irish Man and Woman of the Year will be honored by Councilmen Jose Huizar and Tom LaBonge at 11:30 a.m. on the Pershing Square Stage.
The Irish rock band the Young Dubliners will perform from noon to 1:15 p.m.

The Los Angeles Kings will mark St. Patrick's Day by handing out green hats to all fans in attendance for Monday night's game against the Phoenix Coyotes at Staples Center, which will also include Bailey, the team's mascot, and the Ice Crew wearing green, green-themed merchandise for sale and Irish music being played.
