Stater Bros. Launches Grocery Delivery Service

Shoppers can check if their homes are within the coverage area on instacart.com or the Instacart app

Some Los Angeles County and Inland Empire residents can now have Stater Bros. groceries delivered to their homes.

The grocer is partnering with delivery company Instacart to provide delivery service to ZIP codes including Downey, Whittier, Pomona and Coachella. Shoppers can check if their homes are within the coverage area on instacart.com or the Instacart app.

Shoppers select items from the store and place either on-demand or scheduled orders online.

Then, what the company calls a "personal shopper" will pick up the items and deliver them to the address provided.

There is a $10 minimum for deliveries. Orders between $10 and $35 are free to deliver, and orders over $35 cost $5.99 for a two-hour delivery and $7.99 for one-hour delivery.

Users can receive unlimited deliveries with a subscription of $14.99 per month or $149 per year.

Stater Bros. CEO Pete Van Helden says he's pleased with the Instacart partnership following Tuesday's launch.

"They have met all our expectations," he said.
