Inglewood Mayor James Butts's State of the City speech on Thursday morning will offer "the inside scoop ... on the NFL relocation process," his office said in a statement.
The speech comes days after Carson City Council approved a plan to build an NFL stadium that would host the Chargers and Raiders, now playing in San Diego and Oakland, respectively.
Inglewood is vying to host at least one NFL team as well. In February, its city council approved a $2 billion stadium plan proposed by St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke.
There was some intrigue before Thursday's speech. A press advisory from Butts' office indicated that Raiders owner Mark Davis would attend as a special guest of the mayor, but a later statement said Davis could not attend due to a scheduling conflict.
The Raiders proposed the Carson plan jointly with the Chargers. The Oakland team released a statement saying Davis would not attend the Inglewood State of the City speech.
