Storms, mudslides, and now no Xbox. Rain and gusting winds left more than 13,000 utility customers without electricity early Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The outages were spread across the Los Angeles area while utility crews worked through the night to restore service, according to a DWP statement.

Among the communities most affected were:

- South Los Angeles, 1,200 customers.

- Venice and Mar Vista, 3,200 customers.

- Silver Lake, 2,000 customers.

- Jefferson Park, 2,000 customers.

- Studio City, 700 customers.

- Hyde Park, 216 customers.

As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, the Department of Water and Power had restored service to an estimated 26,000 homes and businesses. At that hour, about 13,600 customers were estimated to be without electricity, according to the DWP.

The utility serves 1.4 million customers.
