Man, Dog Killed by Metro Bus in Sun Valley

The victim was chasing the dog into the street when the crash happened

A man and his dog were struck and killed by a bus Tuesday morning in Sun Valley, a Metro spokesman said.

The victim was chasing after the dog, which had run into the street, when a Metro bus struck the pair, according to Paul Gonzalez, Metro spokesman. The bus was traveling westbound on Webb Avenue between Strathern and Cantara streets.

The deadly crash happened about 10:45 a.m. It was not known if there were passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.

Both the man and his dog were killed, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
