Sunset Boulevard Reopens After Bomb Squad Investigation

Part of Sunset Boulevard was closed Wednesday morning near Crescent Heights Boulevard due to a suspicious package investigation.

The bomb squad response began after the call at about 8 a.m. in the 8000 block of West Sunset Boulevard in a parking area. A block of Sunset Boulevard was closed near the location during the investigation, which continued until about midday.

There were no threats reported with the call, according to authorities. Details regarding the suspicious item, an unattended backpack, were not immediately available, but Los Angeles police said no explosive devices were found.

Traffic control officers were directing drivers around the block-long closure near the Laugh Factory comedy club.
