He probably couldn't bear another night of mountain food -- so a black bear came down from the mountains to see what he could scrounge up in Sierra Madre.

Sierra Madre residents called police over the weekend to report a black bear wandering through their yards, knocking over garbage cans, looking for food.

When police arrived, the bear was in someone's backyard -- but he took off as soon as police spotted him.

The bear didn't hurt anyone.  Police say the animal probably headed back home to the mountains after its night on the town.
