    Police released images of surveillance video that captured two men who police say robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store and fatally shot an employee inside on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.

    Police on Tuesday released surveillance video images of two men they believe killed a store clerk during the robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Los Angeles over the weekend.

    The men robbed two 7-Eleven stores Sunday night within about one hour, fatally shooting a man inside one of the stores, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

    A store clerk was shot and killed during a robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Highland Park Sunday night. An hour earlier, another 7-Eleven in Lincoln Heights was also robbed.     The first robbery about 9:20 p.m. Sunday was in the 3200 block of Broadway in Lincoln Heights, and no one was hurt in that robbery, police said.

    The second robbery about 10:30 p.m. was in the 5100 block of Figueroa Street. There, the two gunmen shot and killed store employee Gonzalo Perez, 38, police said.

    Perez was found laying on the floor with a gunshot wound, police said.

    He leaves behind a wife and 5-year-old child, and he had only been working at the 7-Eleven for four months, his family members told NBC4.

    "It's very upsetting. This clerk is just doing his job," LAPD Lt. Patricia Sandoval told NBC4 on Monday.

    Police said the men posed as customers and jumped the counter.

    The first man was described as a 25- to 30-year-old black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jean short pants, black and white shoes, and red gloves.

    The second man was described as a 25- to 30--year-old black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jean long pants, and blue and white shoes.
