Suspect Allegedly Guns Down Man Then Kills Self in Rosemead

Authorities were investigating the shooting death of a man who was allegedly killed by a suspect who later killed himself in Rosemead, deputies said.

The shooting was reported around 11 p.m. in the 2700 block of Willard Avenue. When deputies arrived, they found a man fatally wounded at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Witnesses at the scene provided deputies with a description of the suspect and said he fled after the shooting. Deputies found a man who fit the description of the suspect and attempted to speak with him. The suspect then shot himself in the head with a gun, deputies said.

Deputies described both the victim and the suspect as Asian males in their 30s.

Detectives were investigating what led up to the fatal shooting.
