SANTA BARBARA  -- Authorities say they have arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of starting a wildfire in California's Santa Barbara County in July.

The so-called Gap Fire -- unrelated to the recent blaze in Santa Barbara and Montecito -- burned 9,500 acres of private and National Forest land in Santa Barbara County. The fire cost an estimated $20 million to tackle.

U.S. Forest Service and Santa Barbara County Fire Department investigators announced Monday the suspect was arrested on arson charges and is being held in a juvenile detention facility in Santa Maria.
