Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Matt Barnes' Aunt

The man is accused of stabbing to death the basketball player's aunt earlier this month

Police in Northern California on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of killing the aunt of Los Angeles Clippers player Matt Barnes, officials said.

Michael Williams, 51, was arrested in Sacramento after a citizen tipped off police, Sacramento Police Officer Michele Gigante said.

Williams is accused of stabbing to death Matt Barnes' aunt on July 8, police said.

Barnes posted a photo on Instagram last week allegedly of Williams, begging for his fans and the public to help find him.

"Reposting this pic as I ask for your continued help to FIND THE MAN who brutally killed my aunt..." the post read.

The post continued: "Now I wanna thank ALL the people who have sent their prayers & condolences, my family & I really do appreciate the love & support from you guys!"

Sacramento police were expected to release a booking photo later Wednesday.
