    A suspected bank robber died and a second person in this car was hurt after crashing while fleeing Anaheim police after a bank robbery.

    A bank robbery in Anaheim on Friday led to a pursuit that left one suspect dead and another hospitalized.

    The robbery occurred about 1:45 p.m. at a Bank of the West branch at 4501 E. La Palma Ave., Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said.

    A car chase in Orange County came to a dramatic end in Anaheim on Friday when the suspects crashed into a pole at an intersection. The car’s driver was killed while a passenger is in critical condition in a nearby hospital. Kim Baldonado reports from Anaheim for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.

    Anaheim police chased the suspects for about 10 minutes until they crashed a sedan at 3460 E. La Palma Ave., Schmidt said.

    The suspected getaway driver was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Schmidt said.

    The passenger was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange in critical condition, Schmidt said.
