A portion of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood was closed Monday night while authorities investigated a suspicious package in front of a restaurant, officials said.

The report came in to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, which patrols West Hollywood, around 9 p.m. Monday. It was located at 8555 Sunset Boulevard in front of Poquito Mas, according to sheriff's officials.

After about two hours on the scene, investigators determined there was "nothing that would cause any harm" and the busy thoroughfare was reopened at about 10:40 p.m.

Sunset Boulevard was shut down between La Cienega Boulevard and Sunset Plaza Drive. The bomb squad was called to the scene.
