In 2013, it is estimated there will be more than 230,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer according to the American Cancer Society (ACS).

While these numbers can seem alarming, doctors say we are making progress. Today there are more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors in the country.

Death rates from breast cancer have been declining as well.   ACS believes this to be the result of early detection as well as improved treatment.

In addition there has been a huge public awareness campaign for breast cancer. We see the pink ribbons and participate in various cancer walks, but what do you really know about breast cancer?
