Man Chases, Captures Alleged Pervert

A man chased down after the mother of a toddler spotted him in the midst of a sex act in front of the child was behind bars Tuesday, said sheriff's detectives, who expect to locate additional alleged victims.
"Because of the extreme perversity (of the crime), we believe he may have done it before," said sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.
Tach Van Truong, 44, was arrested Sept. 23 in the unincorporated El Modena neighborhood where he lives and booked on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child and indecent exposure, Amormino said.
A woman told deputies she spotted him masturbating in front of her 2-year-old child, who was in the yard, he said. A male relative chased Troung to his home and held him for deputies, the spokesman said.
The investigation revealed that a similar crime allegedly occurred Sept. 19, but was never reported, Amormino said.
Detectives believe the man may be responsible for similar crimes, he said, and urged anyone with information about the case to call 866-TIP-OCSD.
