A teenage girl was in critical condition Friday after being shot in Palmdale, officials said.
A shooter or shooters fired at the girl in the 37800 block of Melton Avenue about 12 p.m., according to the LA Sheriff's Department.
She was in critical condition as of Friday evening. Additional details were not immediately clear.
Deputies detained a person of interest in the shooting, Lt. Adam Ellison said.
