Thief Robs Thousand Oaks Bank Without Showing a Weapon

A man robbed a bank in Thousand Oaks on Thursday despite never showing a weapon.

The suspect claimed to be in possession of a gun before demanding money at the Bank of the West Branch on North Moorpark Road at around 12:48 p.m.

The bank teller complied with his demands, and the man then fled with an undisclosed amount of money, Detective Timothy Lohman of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.

The thief was last seen running south through the parking lot toward Hillcrest Drive. No one was injured in the incident.

The robber is described as being in his late 20’s to early 30’s, approximately 5’10” tall with a medium build and weighing approximately 180 pounds. 

He was wearing a beanie style hat, white shirt with the number 19 on the front, dark pants and red shoes. 

Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering to pay up to $1,000 for information, which leads to an the arrest and criminal being filed.
