Thousands Without Power in Hollywood After Man Climbs Pole

More than 2,000 customers lost power in the Hollywood area Wednesday night after a man climbing a pole and came into contact with wires.

Power was restored later in the evening, according the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

According to officers with LAPD’s Hollywood division, the man fell about 75 feet from the top wire of a power pole on Western Avenue near La Mirada Avenue to the ground.

His condition was not immediately clear.

LADWP said 2,710 customers were without power in the Willowbrook area of East Hollywood early in the evening, but power had been restored for all customers by 9:11 p.m.
