Three people were hospitalized Friday after a three-car traffic collision in Panorama City, including an 8-year-old boy.
A white work minivan collided with a four-door red sedan carrying the three people and then collided with a second car.
A 32-year-old woman who was in the same car as the child is in serious condition after she was trapped inside until she was rescued by firefighters.
A 32-year-old man in the same car is also in serious condition. The boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the second car, an 18-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. No one in the third car was injured.
"We just heard screeching, then like a big boom right afterwards," said De'Leon Johnson, so lives near the crash site.
The accident was reported just after 9:30 a.m. in the 14200 block of Terra Bella Street.
