Three teenagers were shot, one fatally, near Banning High School in Wilmington Tuesday.
The gunfire was reported about 3:15 p.m. in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Broad Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
All three teens were taken to a hospital, where one died, according to Officer Tony Im of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.
The other two were expected to survive, he said.
No arrests were immediately reported. A male suspect who was in a gray vehicle was being sought, Im said.
It was unclear if the victims were students at the school.
