Witnesses: Driver Ignored Crossing Gate Before Train Plowed Into Car

Train Plows Into Car

A driver suffered minor injuries when a commuter train plowed into his car at an Orange County rail station and slowly pushed it down the tracks before passengers helped the man out of the vehicle.

Witnesses told Orange police the man drove around the rail crossing gate's arms at Palm Avenue and was struck by the Metrolink train. The driver's Chevrolet Malibu was wrapped around the front of the train, which traveled at a low rate of speed as it approached the Orange Station and pushed the car down the tracks.
