Transformer Explosion Causes Power Outage Near West Hills Area

The outage was reported just after 1 a.m. near Vanowen Street and Platt Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.

Residents called police reporting an apparent transformer explosion before the outage, according to the LAPD.

It was unclear how many customers were affected by the outage.

LAPD contacted the DWP for assistance with the power outage.

Power was restored to the area around 4 a.m.
