Truck Fire Spreads to Brush Along I-5

A truck caught fire along Interstate 5 in Gorman on Sunday, June 9, 2013, and flames spread to nearby brush, burning 6 acres, officials said.

A truck burst into flames, which spread to brush along Interstate 5 near Gorman on Sunday, fire officials said.

The fire began about 5:30 p.m., engulfing a truck towing what appeared to be a boat. Flames spread uphill, prompting firefighters to call in air support.

They quickly put out the blaze, which charred about 6 acres in the rugged area. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
