“Twi-Fans” Invade Los Angeles Hotel for Convention

The Hyatt Regency Plaza in LA will be overrun by twi-hards this weekend attending "The Official Twilight Convention."

"Twilight" fans from Los Angeles will get a special treat when “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part One Official Fan Convention” take over the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Nov. 4 to Nov. 6.

Summit Entertainment, the movie studio that produced the Twilight franchise, and Creation Entertainment, a fan convention company, are hosting the event together.

“We have the official license for Twilight,” said Creation Entertainment spokewoman Monica Gillen. “We also have the Twilight Tour.”

This tour, which includes the Breaking Dawn Convention, will travel across the country giving fans a chance to meet the movies' stars, participate in costume competitions and trivia games, and party with fellow Twi-fans.

The studio has sold over a thousand tickets for the event, but it's not too big to be welcoming, Gillen said.

"They like to keep it intimate," she added.

Tiickets are $25 per day and whatever tickets that are left can be purchased at the convention's doors.

"The 25 dollar ticket price is the most economical choice,” Gillen said.

With this ticket, fans will gain access to the vendor room, prop and costume auditorium, and the many panels happening at the convention, she added.

Twilight's three star actors, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, who play Edward, Bella and Jacob respectively, will make a panel appearance Saturday night with their "Breaking Dawn" director Bill Condon.

The studio "wanted to do something nice for the fans,” Gillen said. “The timing worked out because the stars happened to be in Los Angeles.”

On Nov. 4, Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner had their hands and feet captured in cement  next to those belonging to some of Hollywood's biggest names outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part One” will premiere in theaters Nov. 18.

The Twilight movies are based on the top-selling book series of the same name written by Stephenie Meyer.

The first movie in the series,“Twilight,” premiered in 2008. The franchise will end next year with the release of “Breaking Dawn: Part Two."
