Two Children, Mother Injured in Traffic Collision Near USC

A mother and her two daughters were hospitalized following a traffic collision at a bus stop near the USC campus Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 1:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Jefferson Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A late-1990s Nissan Sentra struck a 32-year-old mother and her 2-year-old and 6-year-old daughters, fire officials said. An earlier report said the girls were ages 1 and 3.

All three victims were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medican Center, where they were listed in stable condition.

The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries. She told police she was attempting to make a left from Jefferson Boulevard onto Vermont Avenue when she lost control after being clipped by a car.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Investigators said they will be looking at surveillance video to determine how the crash happened.

The damaged bus bench was removed.
