Two Arrested in Hit-and-Run That Killed Man in Wheelchair

SUV hit and dragged man in wheelchair 100 feet, resulting in his death

Police arrested two people Monday in connection with a San Fernando Valley hit-and-run that killed a man in a wheelchair.

Pacoima resident Tatiana Cacho, 24, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and North Hollywood resident Christian Olvera, 23, was arrested on suspicion of accessory after the fact, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Sept. 26 hit-and-run crash killed 40-year-old Manuel Dejesus Segovia Gonzales, who died at a hospital after being struck by an SUV and dragged 100 feet across the pavement, police said.

A 2005 Cadillac SRX involved in the crash on Terra Bella Street was located and impounded as evidence, police said.

The community played a significant role in the locating of the suspects, as investigators said anonymous witnesses watched media coverage that led them to report tips to the police.

Cacho was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and Olvera was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said.
