Two Die in Car Crash in Pomona, Vehicle Splits in Half

The vehicle they were in travelling in split in half after it hit a tree on East End Avenue and Mission Boulevard

Two people died after a car crashed into a tree and split in half in Pomona early Saturday, police said.

The colliision happened on East End Avenue and Mission Boulevard at around 4:15 a.m, a Pomona Police Department spokesman said. Both occupants of the vehicle had died by the time emergency services arrived on the scene.

Two men, both 19 years old, were killed in the crash, police said. One was from Ontario, the other Montclair, but police were waiting to speak with their families before revealing their names.

Mission Boulevard is currently closed from East End Avenue to Roswell Street and motorists are advised to take alternate routes until further notice.
