Two Injured After Car Crashes Into Church Building

Police suspect the driver was possibly street racing before the crash.

Two people were injured Wednesday morning after their car crashed into a building attached to a church in Culver City, police said.

The crash was reported around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Louise Street and W. Washington Boulevard, according to the Culver City Police Department.

Police said the Subaru lost control and crashed into a Seventh Day Adventist church building.

The driver and passenger suffered injuries and were transported to a hospital. The driver was in fair condition and the passenger underwent surgery, according to the Culver City Police Department.

No one was inside the church when the crash occurred, police said.

Witnesses said the Subaru was possibly involved in a street race, according to the Culver City Police Department. Police did not have a description of the other vehicle involved in the suspected street race.
