Two Killed in Foothill Freeway Crash

The Coroner's Office on Sunday released the names of the two people who were killed in a traffic crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Glendora.

They were identified as Luisa Morales Gonzalez, 76, and Edgar Ramirez, 19, of Riverside, said Investigator Rudy Molano of the coroner's office.

Molano said he had no place of residence for Gonzalez, but the California Highway Patrol listed her as a Lawndale resident in its report.

The crash was reported at 3:56 p.m. Saturday on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway at Sunflower Avenue, CHP Officer Alex Rubio said.

The CHP reported that Gonzalez and Ramirez were passengers in a 2005 Honda Civic that was involved in a three-vehicle crash that also involved a 2009 Ford F-250 pickup truck and a 2017 Honda Accord.

The crash was triggered by a 33-year-old man in the pickup truck, who was possibly speeding, hit slow traffic and rear ended at least one of the Hondas, which then struck the other Honda.

The driver of the pickup truck, a resident of Van Nuys, was not arrested. It was not immediately known if he was cited.

The driver of the 2005 Honda Civic, a 23-year-old man from Riverside, was transported to Pomona Valley Medical Center with complaints of pain to his neck. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.

Two lanes were closed at the Sunflower offramp through about 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

The CHP's Baldwin Park office asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (626) 338-1164.
