Two Lanes of 101 Freeway Scheduled to Close Starting Monday

The closures will be effective overnight until repaving is completed next fall.

Two lanes of the northbound 101 Freeway are scheduled to be closed for maintenance beginning Monday night and extending through next fall, Caltrans announced Thursday.

Lane closures will be effective between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., Mondays through Saturdays, and will affect areas from the 134/170 Freeway interchange through much of the San Fernando Valley as crews work to repave the 24-mile stretch of freeway between Studio City and Las Virgenes Canyon Road in Calabasas on the northbound side of the freeway.

Guardrails will also be replaced as a part of the $62 million project, which is not expected to cause any daytime closures, said Caltrans spokesman Patrick Chandler.

Signs have already been posted to advise drivers about the upcoming closures, and Caltrans has reminded drivers that fines will be doubled within the construction zone.
